Welcome to Bath Primary Schools' Football Association

Bath Primary Schools’ FA is a non-profit making, voluntary organisation which was founded in May 2003. A collaboration between the primary schools in Bath and North East Somerset, the aim of the association is to organise football opportunities for all primary schools in the area, and foster the development of those showing particular aptitude for football. The association coordinates many festivals and competitions across the primary ages, and in May 2007 joined with West Wiltshire PSFA in order to run a joint district structure.

18 fortunate players from year 6 are chosen every year to represent the area and play other district sides from around the country. Following a development programme specifically designed for junior players, the association encourages the use of 7-aside and 9-a-side throughout the primary ages, and even at district level. The group also takes part in an annual tour to either Jersey or Milan.

New for 2007/2008 is a skills programme to be delivered by newly appointed skills coaches from the Football Association. Twenty fortunate players from each of the primary school age groups will be selected to experience special weekly training.

Greg Taylor
Greg is the U11 district manager and head teacher of King Edward’s Junior School. Having played professional and non-league football, Greg has a wealth of football knowledge. This combined with his teaching skills and relationship with young people make him a huge asset to the organisation.
Shane Kiely
Shane joined BPSFA from West Wilts in 2007 where he was the district coach. His role as Sports Coordinator in the Wiltshire area enables him to keep in close contact with many of the sports enthusiasts young and old in his area.
Tim Kirk
Tim is a teacher at Millfield School and has teaching and coaching experience for schools and clubs in England and abroad. His experience gained from being the Youth Coordinator at Bristol City FC brings many advantages to the association.
Mike Snook
Mike is the treasurer and year 5 teacher at Weston All Saints Primary School. He has a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the association. An unsung hero, the association is very grateful for his efforts
Helen Sykes
As Chair for 3 years, Helen is responsible for coordinating the festivals and tournaments for the primary schools. As year 6 teacher and football coach, she has masterminded many championship winning sides in the past and her efforts and enthusiasm are much appreciated by all the schools.
Kevin Smithies
Kevin has run the association’s website since its foundation in 2003! A key tool in the communication between players, schools, and coaches we are indebted to him for all his efforts. Kevin’s son was a key member of the National Finals side of 2004/2005.
