Will Oswin was the star performer as Bath Schools'
representative side enjoyed a 7-1 win over Portsmouth.
Bath got off to the perfect start, scoring an early goal
after just four minutes from Oswin. Portsmouth came back at
Bath but the defence of Sam Clarke, Ryan Moore and Charlie
Wills, were too strong for Portsmouth. There was also some
fine goalkeeping by Joseph Davies.
Bath then stepped up the pace and an excellent pass from
Oswin sent Paris through for a good finish. Four minutes
before half-time Bradley Norris chipped the ball over the
Portsmouth keeper to make it 3-0.
At the start of the second half, Portsmouth came back at
Bath but the solid defence again held them off. Another goal
from Oswin made the score 4-0 and ten minutes into the second
half a good cross saw Paris score.
Portsmouth rallied and broke away to score a good goal 20
minutes into the second half. Bath then scored two goals in
quick succession from Lee Hedges and Alex Jacobs to make the
final score 7-1.
Oswin won the man of the match award and coaches Tim Kirk
and Greg Taylor were delighted with the team's performance.
